After entering a recent college run competition, my work has been featured in local arts group Charwood Arts exhibition reflection and disguises. This exhibition was a key part of the launch of the Loughborough Lates event in April 2023. The piece chosen depicts the way that mirrors show the looker their reflection yet this may not be how they pecieve themselves, therefore creating a disguise. To portray this, I used central composition with my subject sitting in the centre of the shot in a plain black dress holding a mirror in front of their face. I chose to have this mirror turned towards the camera and used a snoot light to create a spot light effect but also to allow the mirror to reflect a burst of light to the camera. To continue the idea of mirrors, the background depicts suspended mirrors complimenting the subject.
In these mirrors I edited other images of the subject suggesting that this may be how the subject sees themselves.
